An amazing trip
Traveling is much more than seeing things; It is a profound and permanent change of the ideas of life.
Introduction
This blog presents the experience lived in Panama and Mexico, countries visited during the Latin American mission organized by the Faculty of Administrative Sciences of the ICesi University. Some of the countries and cities visited were:
Panamá
It is a country located between the Central and South America border, this country of more than 4 million inhabitants is at the crossroads of two oceans and two continents. Getting to Panama City is very easy and convenient. Panama City, popular for its channel that joins the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, is a dynamic metropolis. It is the capital of international finance in Central America, housing some 70 banks. The buildings of Panama City mark a new urban panorama in the capital that has become the "city of skyscrapers" in Latin America.
Panamá Canal
Panama Canal, which is now 104 years old, is one of the most outstanding shows on the isthmus. The best place to see it is from the Miraflores locks. And maybe the most appropriate time to visit is before 9:30 a.m. or after 2:30 p.m., since they are the hours in which the boats pass through the canal in their north and south transit respectively.
This interoceanic highway has an extension of 80 kilometers and works as a marine shortcut to save distance, time and costs in the transport of all kinds of goods. A ship takes an average of 8 to 10 hours to transit the Panama Canal and today connects 144 sea routes that reach 1,700 ports in 160 countries.
Even the most unsuspecting visitor is amazed by its complex system of locks, which serve as water elevators by raising ships to the level of Gatun Lake, 26 meters above the sea.
México
Mexico is one of the largest countries in Latin America, both in terms of geographical spread, population or economic capacity. It has a population of 123.5 million inhabitants distributed in 31 federal states and the Federal District. Mexico is the 3rd largest economy in the Americas and the 2nd in Latin America, second only to the US and Brazil. The Mexican economy is oriented towards exports based on free trade agreements with numerous countries.
